My favorite
I am incredibly picky when it comes to pens. I am willing to spend a premium price on a pen. I have heard good things about the Paper Mate pens and I am thoroughly impressed. They write so smoothly and feel in my hand. I don't feel like I have to press too hard to write and the ink is smooth and dark. I highly recommend these pens. These are my new favorite pens and I highly recommend them.

I really like this pen. It writes very smooth and sleek. It feels as if the pen is just gliding across the paper. Also the ink also does not smudge on the paper. Smudging is usually a problem with gel pens but not with this one, the ink dries quickly. The look of the pen is aesthetically pleasing and fits comfortably in the hand. The quality of the pen is great and I would recommend it.

These are my favorite disposable pens so far. The barrel is slightly textured, making it easy and comfortable to hold. The ink flows smoothly onto the paper, and leaves a very clear impression. I prefer the 0.5mm point, but they also have 0.7mm if you like a slightly thicker line. I found the ink dries pretty quickly, haven’t had any issues with ink smudging.

Huge fan!
I’m a huge fan of the gel pens and these don’t disappoint. I’m constantly needing to sign and fill out paperwork in my profession and having a good pen that writes smoothly can make all the difference. These Paper Mate InkJoy Retractable Gel Pens, make my day more enjoyable. They last a long time. Light weight. And comfortable to grip. I recommend.

I love the way it glides when I write, nice and smooth. I also have this thing where I love to click the pens, which probably drives people crazy. LOL but something else I love about this pen. It does not smear like most gel pens do. it dries pretty quickly. I'm hoping this type of pen comes in multiple colors so I can go get more!

I like this pen a lot. I’m always writing during the day and the ink in this pen is very clear, it doesn’t smear a ton when I’m writing with it, but it might with left handed people. With the type of ink it uses, it does show up on the other side of the paper. Not a total bleed through, but you can definitely see it.

I love this pen!! I have longed for a retractable Gel pen that i can use without issue. This pen writes beautifully with a fine point that does not skip. Other gel pens have to be held perpendicular to the paper - this one does not. From any angle it flows effortlessly. I will buy this one again and again.

Really Nice Pen
I use the InkJoy Retractable Gel pen everyday at work. This is a comfortable pen to hold. The fine point tip has all your writing looking neat. There is no ink spots that come from the tip of the pen. Your ink writing is nice and smooth. Just an all around nice comfortable pen to use for any of your needs.

If you love writing, or have to write daily for the activities/job and you need a great pack of pens, no need to look any further. The way this ink rolls out onto the paper is so smooth and just super easy and nice. No need to work about it giving out while in the middle of a signature.

I love trying new writing utensils. The pen retracted smoothly and also wrote smoothly but it streaked allowing for paper to appear messy; would not allow young kids to use as they would not understand to watch for streaks. I would probably not buy this particular pens over others.

Fantastic pens
Love these guys. The writing is consistently smooth and doesn't bleed through the paper. I tend to take a lot of notes in spiral notebooks and it drives me crazy when the ink is too "heavy" - not the case with these. This is a quality pen that lasts for ages...one of my favorites!

Great, consistent pens!
These are my daily writers! They always lay down a clean, consistent line with no skipping, and are comfortable to hold over a long period of time. The ink dries fairly quickly once it's down, but the pen won't dry out instantly if you forget to retract it - a great balance!

A little disappointed
I love the look and feel of the pen. It doesn’t hurt my fingers to write with and the fine point is great but the pen seems to be picky with my paper. It will write bold and slowly start fading and pick back up depending on where I write which definitely gets frustrating.

Only could find Paper Mate InkJoy Retractable Gel Pens, Fine Point, Black Ink while at the store today and grabbed a pen. The ink glides smoothly but I prefer a slightly bolder point than this very fine pointed pen. It's a nice gel ink pen though with a great grip.

Love this pen! It's not too heavy or not too light, and really fits well in your hand. I do a lot of small writing within grid paper for work, so this fine point works perfectly. It also doesn't drip ink so theres never any smudges or splatters to clean up!

I'm always searching for the perfect pen. It has to write smooth and look nice. I've tried so many different pens and either the ink smears to much or they just don't write smooth. So far I'm loving this pen. It writes so smooth and looks so nice on paper.

Lightweight and easy to use.
This pen is very lightweight which is helpful reducing fatigue. The pushbutton control at the top displays the writing element when wanted. This prevents unwanted stains on objects in may come in contact with. I would recommend this pen for simple tasks.

Smooth writing and an easy little pen to use. I’m a paraprofessional in second grade and have to write down little notes daily and I’ve been using this pen for just that. It’s become my favorite.

Very nice pen with a nice grip
This is a very nice pen that has a nice grip and clean application. There is a nice rubber wrapping to the pen that allows for a good, constant grip. The retractable nature of the pen is nice and solid. And the pen writes a solid, uninterrupted line.

Love these pens!
I got this pack of Paper Mate ink joy pens and I use them all the time. The gel doesn't smudge when you write and it writes so smoothly. Perfect thickness too! They are retractable so you dont have to worry about losing the cap. I highly recommend!

My Favorite Pen!
I’m so excited to have found the PaperMate Inkjoy fine-point pen. It writes so smooth. The ink does not transfer when touched. It’s very affordable, so if you lose one it’s not a big deal. Definitely will continue buying and recommending these!

Love Fine Point
Great pen and writes super smooth. No blotchiness which is an issue with some fine point pens. No skipping and ink is still going strong. Retractor had no issues at all and could open and close as needed. Overall great pen.

Hi Stevie, Thanks for your question. Paper Mate InkJoy Gel Pens, especially the 0.5 mm fine point version, use a gel-based ink that is designed to dry quickly on standard paper surfaces&mdash;but not on porous, non-absorbent materials like unglazed clay. When applied to a surface like a clay pot, the ink doesn&rsquo;t absorb or bond properly, causing it to remain wet or tacky even days later. Gel ink relies on slight absorption or evaporation to dry, and on materials like clay, that process is slowed dramatically or halted altogether. Additionally, clay pots have a highly porous and mineral-based surface, which can interfere with the ink&rsquo;s ability to set. The moisture in the gel ink may react with the natural elements in the clay, preventing it from curing. For decorating clay, oil-based paint pens or markers made specifically for ceramics are much more effective and will dry completely. InkJoy Gel Pens are best reserved for paper, card stock, and similarly absorbent surfaces where they can perform as intended.
