We changed the tip design of flair felt tip pens to point guard to prevent tip from fraying.

Hello, Sklav27. Paper Mate Flair Felt Tip are classified under the family of pen. It's just we used a water-based ink as main composition that will gives you bright colors and smear-resistant ink that won&rsquo;t bleed through the page.

Why do the PaperMate Flair Medium pens are so great to start with and then within a few days of use (with cap on between uses) they no longer are vibrant and hardly write at all? I just opened this package last week and now am very frustrated.

I have noticed that The tip on some of my paper mate medium felt tip pens is completely different. Referring to the plastic piece that is at the tip, Some of them do not have that and some do. Is this a mess up or is that a different product all together

The newer Paper Mate Flair Pens have a plastic point guard at the tip. A point guard prevents the tip from fraying, and it also prolongs the life of the pen.
