Hello Kay, Thank you for reaching out about your Paper Mate Clearpoint Mechanical Pencil. If the eraser won’t screw up or down, try removing it completely and gently clearing any bits of lead dust or debris from the eraser barrel, as buildup can block the mechanism. Once clean, reinsert the eraser and twist it slowly to re-engage the threads. If it still doesn’t move smoothly, our Consumer Care team can help with further troubleshooting or replacement options. Please reach out to us via https://www.papermate.com/support/contact-us or call us at 1-800-346-3278 or through LiveChat. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am -5pm Eastern Time. Hello, Thank you for your question. If the lead of a mechanical pencil falls out, it may be due to improper loading or using incorrect lead. To properly load leads, remove the cap and eraser to access the reservoir. Additionally, make sure to use full, new leads that are evenly calibrated. If the lead is not advancing, twist the top of the pencil clockwise until it stops, and then press the lead back into the pencil before releasing the top. This should help in securing the lead properly. If you have more questions, or you need assistance, please reach out to us via the "Contact Us" form on our official website. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9am -5pm Eastern Time. Thank you! Paper Mate Consumer Care.

I am not able to refill the clear print .7mm pencil. After trying other brands I even bought Paper mate .7 lead refills and it still does not work. Very frustrating. The lead will not feed into the tip of the pencil or pushes back into the tip.

Hello. Thank you for reaching out to us. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused, please try the steps below: - Check for Jammed Lead: Remove any remaining lead from the pencil by clicking the advance button several times while gently shaking the pencil upside down. - Insert and click to advance the lead while holding the pencil upside down. - Ensure the tip is secure—if the lead pushes back, the clutch may not be gripping properly. Hello, Thank you for reaching out to us and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. The lead in these mechanical pencils is actually graphite, not the toxic metallic element lead. Thank you for reaching out to us and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. The lead in these mechanical pencils is actually graphite, not the toxic metallic element lead. Graphite and clay are the typical materials used in pencil cores, and they are considered non-toxic. If you get poked by the pencil and a fragment of graphite gets lodged under your skin, here is what you should do: 1- Do Not Panic: Remember that graphite is non-toxic, so it does not pose a poisoning risk. 2- Clean the Area: Wash the area with mild soap and warm water to prevent infection. 3- Sterilize: Use rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide on the affected area after washing. 4- Remove Visible Fragments: If there are any large, visible fragments that are easy to access, you might carefully attempt to remove them with sanitized tweezers. Take care not to push the fragment deeper or cause further injury. 5- Seek Medical Attention if Necessary: If the fragment is deeply embedded, or if the wound is bleeding excessively and does not stop, seek medical attention. Do not attempt to remove deeply embedded fragments yourself. 6- Monitor the Wound: Keep an eye on the wound for signs of infection, such as redness, swelling, or pain. If any of these symptoms occur, consult a healthcare professional. Moreover, please feel free to contact us directly so we can further assist you with your concern.
