Thank you for reaching out to us and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. The lead in these mechanical pencils is actually graphite, not the toxic metallic element lead. Graphite and clay are the typical materials used in pencil cores, and they are considered non-toxic. If you get poked by the pencil and a fragment of graphite gets lodged under your skin, here is what you should do: 1- Do Not Panic: Remember that graphite is non-toxic, so it does not pose a poisoning risk. 2- Clean the Area: Wash the area with mild soap and warm water to prevent infection. 3- Sterilize: Use rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide on the affected area after washing. 4- Remove Visible Fragments: If there are any large, visible fragments that are easy to access, you might carefully attempt to remove them with sanitized tweezers. Take care not to push the fragment deeper or cause further injury. 5- Seek Medical Attention if Necessary: If the fragment is deeply embedded, or if the wound is bleeding excessively and does not stop, seek medical attention. Do not attempt to remove deeply embedded fragments yourself. 6- Monitor the Wound: Keep an eye on the wound for signs of infection, such as redness, swelling, or pain. If any of these symptoms occur, consult a healthcare professional. Moreover, please feel free to contact us directly so we can further assist you with your concern. You can reach us via our official website Paper Mate or through LiveChat during our operating hours, Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 5 pm Eastern Time. Thank you and please stay safe! Consumer Care

Hi Lilly, We appreciate your interest in our products. Unfortunately, the Jumbo eraser refill is not available individually and is only available together with the new set of pencils. Please rest assured that your feedback will be forwarded to our management team for possible consideration of producing packs of jumbo eraser refills individually in the future. Thank you! We are sorry to hear this kind of experience you've had with our Clearpoint Mechanical Pencil as the lead won't come out. In order for you to reload the lead, here's the step. 1. Remove the eraser cap from the top of the pencil. 2. Get a lead of your refill container. 3. Put the lead refills in white funnel at the top of the pencil. (Please ensure that all lead makes it into the white lead funnel). 4. Take the cap and place it back into it's designated position at the top of the pencil. (You should hear a clicking sound once you place the eraser cap into place). 5. Press the "push button" repeatedly located at the middle part of the barrel until the lead comes out. We hope that this step will help you. In any case that there is still no lead coming from your mechanical pencil after making these steps, contact us directly and we have a representative that it more than happy to help.
