Rated 5 out of 5 by SoCOJules from Comfortable and ergonomically correct This mechanical pencil set comes with three pencils, two extra refillable erasers and one lead set. It feels very comfortable and ergonomically correct in my hand. The lead is very strong and sturdy. I advanced the lead one click and it wrote very well. Two clicks, and it again felt very sturdy and managed to withstand a little bit more pressure than the first. After three clicks of advancing the lead, I guessed the extra lead that was exposed would compromise its integrity, and I was correct. The lead withstood normal pressure until I began to scribble on my paper and applied more pressure until it broke off. My observations lead me to conclude that only two clicks of advancing the lead is necessary when writing. I liked how the rubber grip is positioned to help remind me where to hold the pencil properly. I thought the eraser was a powerhouse when I began to erase the dark pencil markings I created when trying to write hard. The eraser left very little waste, unlike so many pencils I've used where my paper is literally covered with specks of small eraser bits. I am happy to say that I am a fan of this Papermate Clear Point #2 mechanical pencil and will recommend this product to my friends and family.

A few quick troubleshooting steps may help resolve the issue:

- Check the lead size: Make sure the refill lead matches the pencil size (for example, 0.5mm or 0.7mm). Using the wrong size can prevent proper advancement.
- Avoid overfilling: Too much lead inside the barrel can cause jamming. Try removing the extra pieces and reinserting just 2 sticks.
- Clear a possible jam: Remove the eraser and use a thin pin or straightened paperclip to gently clear the tip opening.
- Reinsert the lead properly: After clearing, insert a small amount of lead and click a few times while holding the pencil tip downward.

If both pencils continue to malfunction after these steps, there may be a defect. In that case, we recommend contacting us directly with your receipt for assistance.
