Rated 5 out of 5 by Tater from A well designed mechanical pencil The little details on this mechanical pencil are what make it a yes for me. The button to advance the lead is conveniently placed where I can click it with barely a pause in my writing or drawing. The curve of fhe barrel and ridged texture where I grip the pencil make it comfortable to use for extended periods of time. The ability to retract not just the lead but also the actual point of the pencil ensure that it won't poke through a pocket or pencil case when it is not in use. Beyond that, the leads are smooth, gliding on almost all papers, leaving consistent marks that don't smudge.

I decided to give these a try and I am happy I did. The pencil is simplistic for us that don’t like complicated things. It is easy and quick to add led and the eraser is more sturdy than others I’ve tried. It erases very well and pulls all the led off the paper. It has a comfortable design to fit well within hand and it has lasted me a long time so far. The led doesn’t break as easy and actually lasts longer. It clips onto my sketch book easily and has outperformed more exspensive mechanical pencils.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mommysamons84 from Good quality I love these pencils! They write nice and smooth and are easy to grip. You get 2 pencils, extra lead for each and replacement erasers. The erasers are white and remind me of the old polymer erasers. They easily erase without tearing the paper or leaving marks behind. The lead is durable and thicker so it can withstand pressure without breaking. The pencils are comfortable to hold and lightweight. Refilling the lead is as easy as removing the eraser and filling the chamber. To replace the eraser, just remove the old eraser before it gets flat and press the new one down in its place. If the old eraser is flat, you can use tweezers or a pin to remove it. Really great quality, highly recommend.

As the parent of a middle school boy, I’m constantly being told “mom, I need new led pencils” or “this one doesn’t have even an eraser anymore!” I didn’t want him sharing pencils at school because…well germs…so this Paper Mate 2 pack with extra led AND refillable erasers were a hit! He says the led doesn’t break easily like the big multi-packs of led pencils I had been previously buying and they write very clean and neat and erase wonderfully! When he needs a new eraser or extra led, he has it with him in his binder! I would definitely recommend this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by bruinsjb from Quality Pencils! I use this pencil daily at work now and it has replaced my old mechanical pencils. It is extremely comfortable and writes smoothly like a pen. The grip area fits my hand perfectly and feels good throughout the day. I love that the replaceable eraser is so large although it's not the best eraser that I've used. Being able to turn the top and increase the available eraser is a huge bonus though. My kids have a tendency to eat through erasers at home, so I left the second pencil for them just for that reason. Quality mechanical pencil with a great fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jess443 from Good quality pencil At first glance, I thought these look really fancy for mechanical pencils. It really is. The eraser is what really blew my mind. It twists up to release more eraser when it gets to low to erase what you have written. If you need more lead to come out and couple of clicks on the side of the pencil and you will have more. The finger grip really isn't to padded but didn't seem to leave any soreness or redness. The lead doesn't break to easily but I'm not sure how well younger folks would manage using these. I will definitely use these pencils again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tatertot from Great Pencils! I gave these pencils to my daughter to use for middle school. Previously, her favorite mechanical pencil was the basic version of these. My daughter says these pencils are even better! The weight of the metal tip feels better when writing and they seem sturdier. She did say that the graphite is a bit smudgy, but we can solve that with different leads. The 0.7mm lead is the perfect balance creating a strong line but not too heavy. Overall, these are a win in our book!

The design is a little bigger than the typical mechanical pencil and is so easy to use. I like that the eraser does not have a plastic cap over it that needs to be removed every time you want to use It. I also like that there is a button to click on the side of the pencil to add the more lead. It’s a win for me !!

I also find it bizarre indeed that you would spend the time to navigate to the website of a company that makes writing instruments to tell them that their product is a waste when you obviously do not even utilize it. Do you have a grudge against these pencils? The waste is using wooden pencils made from trees and throwing them away (or into the drawer you never clean out) simply because the eraser is used up. Having to sharpen a pencil every 15 minutes is very annoying, that is if neatness and legible writing means anything to you. It is likely you are one of those people whose notes one cannot read due to all of the half-erased scribbles underneath the writing on top. As a PhD mathematics student, this pencil is both convenient and low maintenance, not to mention environmentally friendly. One pencil all year vs. 100 wooden ones is far more economical as well! This pencil is the best on the market. It writes smoothly, is comfortable, and it erases very well. I have had the same two for two years and they are still in great shape! This product was made for people that appreciate such things, so feel free to use your wooden pencils and find something worthwhile to begrudge!
