Description
Avoid broken leads while writing with Paper Mate Clearpoint Break-Resistant Mechanical Pencils! Best Mechanical Pencils!
These mechanical pencils are great and one of the best out there. I don't have to worry anymore about breaking the lead since these have a built in mechanism that prevents the lead from breaking. The pencils came with plenty of lead and four erasers in total. These pencils will definitely last you a long time and will save you money in the long run.

These mechanical pencils are great. They write very smoothly. They produce clean sharp lines. A the. Leads do not break easily. They are easy to refill. The eraser works well. it is a large eraser the you can extend out from the pencil as you use it. you never ended up running g out of. The eraser. The pencil is. Very comfortable to hold as well.

Awesome Pencil
Paper Mate has done it again , With a mechanical pencil. The pack comes with two pencils , Six lids and two refillable erasers. I like the Break resistant shock absorbing tip, which means less lead breakage. The pencil has a grip around the tip, so your hand doesn’t hurt when you’re writing a lot. The lead is fine and it’s very smooth writing.

Great mechanical pencils
My daughter is a pencil connoisseur and reaches for these daily. The lead writes smoothly with very few breaks. The pencil erasers could be more substantial in my opinion, but this is a common occurrence with any mechanical pencil brand. Definitely a repeat purchase in our house, as schoolwork and art puts these to the test!

Flows like a River!
I was so excited to get the PaperMate Clear point 0.5mm came with refills too! I took one and have my grand daughter the other to use for school. She loves it and so do I. Constant flow when your writing. Doesn't break either! Perfect for little hands too. Great price also. Will be getting some for the rest of the kids.

The paper mate clear point mechanical pencils work great. It’s really easy to raise the lead and lower it back down as well. The lead is a good quality and doesn’t break easily at all. The pencils are a really nice design and fit nicely in my hand. The mechanical pencils come with extra lead and extra erasers.

Strong lead, great pencil
I use these to draw, and are super nice for making thin sketches. They would also be great for writing as well, I love that it came with extra of everything so now I'm well stocked enough I can draw for quite awhile with this. The eraser is really nice, they always are with these!

Love!
I've been using papermate mechanical pencils for about 15 years now. I love them, especially the .5 lead. They're comfortable in the hand, they write smoothly and the lead doesn't break, the erasers work really well with no smudging. I love these pencils and will always be a fan.

Love these pencils!
I got these pencils to start back up school. These are absolutely my favorite pencils to use. They write amazing, hold a lot of lead which is great. The eraser is incredible too. I like being able to have refills of the erasers as well. I highly recommend these pencils.

My favorite pencil!
This is my favorite back-to-school pencil - since middle school, and thru college. I love the grip and the clicker on the side of the barrel of the pencil. I prefer the 0.5mm, however, sometimes this size is hard to find, and I would get the 0.7mm.

Good Long lasting product
These are the first mechanical pencils i used and i have to say they are much better than regular pencils, little costlier but sturdy and long lasting. Extra refill set and erasers are useful. The pencil doesn't break easily. Great craftsmanship.

This is my favorite lead pencil.It glides smoothly on the paper.Its a nice dark lead that is easy to read.
Set comes with erasers and extra lead.The erasers dont tear my paper if I need to erase.Its a really nice set.I enjoy writing with it.

These are great mechanical pencils. They do not break as easily as other brands do. The comfort grip is nice. It makes for a comfortable hold when writing. My daughter tried it and liked it too, and now she uses it for schoolwork.

Overall, I like this more than Paper Mate's Clearpoint Mechanical Pencils, which I grew up with, and would recommend!
Pros
- Super light: this is probably the 1st thing you will notice when using these pencils
- Break-resistant: breaking lead tips aren't really a problem for me personally, but this could be useful for others who apply more force when writing. The first lead extension will pretty much be unbreakable, but this is the norm. The second extension will require a lot more force than other pencils, like PM's Clearpoint (CP) model, to break the tip.
- Twist eraser: although not perfect, this is a huge improvement over CP. Your fingers, when holding the twister cap, will act as a locking mechanism. This prevents the eraser from twisting forward or backward. The improvement lies in the large cap, which takes up more than 2/3 of the pencil length as opposed to CP's little tip.
Cons
- Moving the push button from the side to the top: this gets rid of the continuity offered by CP. Although minute, extending the lead with this pencil disrupts the workflow. The reason I loved CP was b.c it had the push button on the side!
- Not long enough twister cap: the main reason I subtracted 0.5 stars is a combination of this and the push button relocation. When I flip my pencil to eraser mode, my fingers will just barely miss the eraser twist cap and will land on the pencil body instead. This means no eraser locking. If I don't scoot my fingers forward a bit, not only would the eraser be extended forward and backward as I erase like the CP model, but the action of applying force to the pencil could also cause the lead to be extended forward.

Well, I'm starting to believe it just isn't possible. In this household, 3 adults have attempted this, one has an engineering background, and the other is a jet pilot. No one was able to do it. My observation is that the pencil is an expensive throw-away after the factory-installed lead (which I suspect was inserted while the pencil was disassembled prior to manufacture) expires.
