Get to the Root of the SAT

Getting ready to take the SAT?

Instead of memorizing every vocabulary word in the dictionary (a daunting task to say the least), make the SAT English section a little easier by using prefixes, suffixes and root words to study.

Identifying root words allows you to make better sense of words you may have never seen before. This method will allow you to learn more effectively and enhance your vocabulary

When you begin studying, color code roots, prefixes and suffixes to easily differentiate.

For example, the word Anthropology comes from the root word “anthro͟p” which means “human” and the suffix “ology͟” which means “the study.”

Together, this means the study of humans.

To take it to the next level, underline negative words in red and positive words in green

This will help you recall the meaning behind a word much easier.
